Welcome To Lake Country

Lake Nacimiento is centrally located sixteen miles north west of Highway 101 in Paso Robles on scenic Lake Nacimiento Drive (G-14). Formed by the damming of the Nacimiento River in 1956-1957, today Lake Nacimiento is 16 miles long and covers over 5,000 surface acres surrounded by 165 miles of scenic coves and inlets. Pine and oak forests are scattered across the grassy shoreline, which typically reaches its maximum elevation of 800 feet in March and April. With a capacity of over 370,000 acre feet of water, the lake provides irrigation water and flood control as well as recreation. It is an excellent fishery with unique species, including large mouth and small mouth bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill and the famous white bass. Other popular uses of the lake’s clean and warm water include water skiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding, sailing and kayaking.
